The environmental purpose of the Foundation is to establish and maintain the Daintree Rainforest Fund for the specific purpose of supporting the primary goal and objects of the Foundation as it applies to the Land, such that the Fund is established to receive all gifts of money or property for this purpose and any money received because of such gifts must be credited to its Fund; and the Fund must not receive any other money or property into its account and it must comply with subdivision 30-E of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
The objects of the Foundation, as they apply to Daintree Rainforest Land, are to ensure that Australia’s obligations, as defined within the meaning of the World Heritage Convention, are met. Consolidating the ecological bond between the inhabitant people of the Land (and their community), as constituent parts of the natural environment, by supporting their knowledge and traditional practices and their vital roles in environmental management and development, ensures that the natural heritage of the Land has a cultural function in the life of this community.
